KURZ in collaboration with The University of Cologne offers this year the 16th International Tympanoplasty course. The entire spectrum of otology will be presented clinically and surgically. The interactive live-surgeries will again cover all types of ear operations: Tympanoplasty, Cholesteatoma surgery, Stapesplasty, Cochlea Implantation and Canal wall up/down mastoidectomy.
Lectures will include:
- Anatomy and Function of the reconstructed middle ear
- Reconstruction of the tympanic membrane
- Passive middle ear implants – biological and mechanical aspects
- Principals of eradication of ear disease
- Biomechanics of Stapesplasty
- Critical reflections on implantable hearing aids
Hands on Experiments:
- Tympanic membrane reconstruction with guide technique for cartilage shoe
- Training with TORP’s and PORP’s
- Cartilage slicing
- VARIAC System training
- Positioning of Ossicular replacement prosthesis with acoustic control
- Manipulation in active and passive temporal models
