As much as we were all looked forward to the ASOHNS Annual Scientific Meeting 2020 conference it could not go ahead as planned, the ASM a victim of the dreaded COVID-19. The risk of delegates and industry acquiring COVID-19 is too high so therefore, ASOHNS’ Council Federal Executive made the decision to cancel the face-to-face conference and exhibition, the Conveners have proposed to take steps to convert the conference in Sydney to a virtual congress. The virtual conference to be available for registered delegates by mid-April.
Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a somewhat new virus. The disease causes respiratory illness (like the flu) with symptoms such as a cough, fever, and in more severe cases, difficulty breathing and death. One can protect yourself by washing your hands frequently, avoiding touching your face, and avoiding close contact (1,5 meter – 2 meters) with people who are unwell.
